TOP FASHION FINDS
OF THE SEASON
by Fashion Expert Jenn Falik
||1. SIR ALISTAIR RAI
When I discovered the power of a scarf to completely transform an outfit, my
personal style was forever changed. I have about 10 scarves from Sir Alistair
Rai, and I never travel without at least 3 of them. They make jeans and a t-shirt
suddenly chic. They can be tied as a halter top and paired with skinny white
J Brand jeans for a night out on the town. on a plane, they are perfectly sized
to be my on- board blanket, and on the beach, a make-shift sarong. They are all
inspired by Indian culture, and the designer, Kiran Rai, is hands down one of
the most fashionable people I have ever met.
Tulipano Boutique, Atlanta.
Friends of mine started this line- and I am amazed season after season at the
unbelievable pieces they design. I order one of everything for both myself and
my mom — which just goes to show the versatility of the collection. My
personal favorite is their blouses — delicate shapes in rich, bright colors.
Perfect tucked into a high waisted pencil skirt for work, as well as untucked
and belted high on the waist with light washed jeans for weekend get-togethers.
||3. THREAD SOCIAL DRESSES
I usually visit 3-4 cities a month to share the scoop on my favorite finds on
local TV shows- and in order to make the packing process super simple, I stick
to 2-3 dresses a season that I know won’t wrinkle in my suitcase and will
look good on-air. This summer, all of those dresses are from Thread Social. The
cuts are flattering yet unique, and each style walks the line between girly and
edgy, so depending on my city, or my mood, I can unleash my inner girly girl
or rocker chick simply by accessorizing.
My fave for summer is the Kooba Blake in pink. I love it because it is lightweight
so I can fill it with stuff but still carry it, and it has great side pockets
where I stash my Dita sunglasses and a bottle of water. There is a place inside
for my iPod, cell and blackberry, and enough room to spare for my MacAir, magazines
and books for a long flight!
||5. OMEGA RED GOLD SPEEDMASTER
50TH ANNIVERSARY WATCH
Mayors in Buckhead
I love how an oversized man’s watch looks on a woman’s wrist — and
this is the watch I am lusting after right now. The red gold is unexpected — and
the style is both elegant and sporty. It will look right at home with a glamorous
gown or an everyday outfit. This is my not-so-subtle hint to my husband - ahem,
our anniversary is coming up in the Fall!!
