Celebrating its first anniversary this fall,
InterContinental’s flagship hotel serves up Southern hospitality
with international flair. The posh property offers such indulgences as
a 24-hour French restaurant, a full-service spa and afternoon tea.
Au Pied de Cochon, the hotel’s Parisian-style brasserie, is the
perfect place for fine dining, whether for a small reception or an intimate
dinner. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and “after dinner” are served
around the clock. Guests even have the opportunity to sit down with the
chef at an evening chef’s table for 10.
All can be enjoyed in the restaurant’s sumptuous surroundings. The
dramatic décor features velvet-draped booths, Murano glass chandeliers
and hand-painted murals. Such artistic outpouring extends throughout the
curved walls of the hotel, where a gallery of regional works hang on view,
as well as unusual configurations of petrified wood from Indonesia. A
brochure is available at the concierge desk that details each piece.
Two spectacular ballrooms grace the hotel: the Windsor Ballroom, the largest
in Buckhead; and the Venetian Ballroom, sparkling with Venetian glass
chandeliers.
InterContinental’s lovely lobby beckons guests to take time out
for a cup of afternoon tea, served daily. Gaze upon the sprawling flower
and plant garden, complete with fountain, just outdoors. The lobby is
also home to four venerable palms, picked from the palm fields over 30
years ago.
True relaxation awaits at the Jurlique Spa, which offers facials and massages,
among other services. There’s also a giant pool, Jacuzzi and fitness
center.
For the ultimate in luxury, book a room on the Club InterContinental concierge
floor. Five food services per day are presented in the club lounge. A
board room is also available for private meetings.
Each and every room at the hotel pampers guests with added amenities,
including wired and wireless Internet service, CD players and Play Stations
for an all-around wonderful stay.
