A womans wedding day is
truly one of the most important days of her life. She should
feel gorgeous, confident and comfortable the best version
of herself, says Paul Starr, director of the Estée
Lauder National Makeup Artist Team.
To achieve ones best bridal look, Starr offers the following
tips:
Proper skin care is essential for gorgeous glowing skin and should
start months before the big day.
Work with a professional makeup artist to determine the
look and colors that are desirable.
Carry staple items like translucent powder, blotting papers
and lipstick or gloss for last minute touch-ups.
Keep in mind that less is more and dont over do
it.
Here
are three different bridal looks presented by Estée Lauder
for the big day.
THE
NATURAL BRIDE
A beautiful, classic look with warm, bright makeup to enhance
natural beauty.
FACE: Concealer that matches one's skin tone should always
be applied under the eyes, on the tip and bridge of the nose and
under the bottom corners of the eyes. For this warm bridal look,
mix an illuminating moisturizer with foundation. Be sure to include
on the apples of the cheeks and right above the lips. Set all with
a translucent pressed powder for a lasting look.
CHEEKS: Apply a pink/rose colored blush on the apples of
the cheeks and a lighter rose blush as a highlighter to achieve
that perfectly rosy glow.
EYES: Universally flattering colors with a little bit of
shimmer create a sophisticated and bright eye. Start with eye shadow
in a light bright white as a highlighter on the brow bone and the
inner corner of the eye. Line upper and lower lash line with an
eyeliner in plum and smoke the lower lash line with eye shadow in
pearl or gold. Finish with a layer of lash-building mascara in blue
on the top lash, follow with a coat of black and line the lower
lash in brown.
LIPS: For a look that will give the ideal hint of rosy color
and shine, line lips with a rose lip pencil. Then, top with lipstick
in rose or apple red and top with a clear gloss.
THE FANTASY BRIDE
A bridal look full of drama, with strong eyes and a sexy mouth.
FACE: Use a concealer for all concealment needs. Mix an illuminating
moisturizer with foundation for beautiful glowing skin, adding extra
to the apples of the cheeks and right above the lips. Set with pressed
powder in translucent for even, photo-ready skin.
CHEEKS: Contour the cheeks with highlights and lowlights
for a sexy and beautiful look. Start with a blush in brandy or wine
as a lowlight on the cheekbone. Next, apply a plum blush as a highlighter.
The look is feminine and strong.
EYES: Add drama with subtly smoky eyes. Start with eyeliner
in indigo along the top lash lines to frame the eyes. Next, apply
eye shadow in a bronzy, shimmering shade of copper, from crease
to lashline. Then, an eye shadow in tea can be worn as a highlighter
on the brow bone. Apply a granite color to the outer corners of
the eye; blend into a smoky eye outwards. Finish with a lash building
mascara in blue on the top lash, follow with a coat of black and
line the lower lash in brown.
LIPS: With a gorgeous, dramatic eye, a warm neutral, but
still glossy lip will pull it all together. Line lips with a lip
pencil in plum. Then, apply lipstick in wine, topped with lip gloss
in peach or quartz.
THE PRINCESS BRIDE
Rich pinks and warm wines bestow the perfect glow for a princess.
FACE: Combine illuminating moisturizer with foundation, and
set with a translucent pressed powder for a look that will last.
CHEEKS: Apply cheek color in russet and set with blush in
plum as a highlighter.
EYES: Eyes are lush with rich velvety colors. Start with
an eye shadow in espresso in the crease of the lid. Next, line the
upper lid with a thin swipe of eyeliner in black. Apply eye shadow
in berry above crease on only the inner half of the eyelid. Finally,
line the lower lash line with an eye pencil in black followed by
a lash building mascara in black.
LIPS: Apply lipstick in a deep wine,
layered with a lip gloss in cherry leaving lips completely kissable.
