Gourmet jelly beans make a sweet splash at weddings Wedding planner to Hollywood’s biggest stars, Mindy Weiss used 10 flavors of Jelly Belly beans to create a candy shop at the wedding of "Bachelorette" stars Trista and Ryan. Guests were invited to scoop their own selection of pink-hued flavors from a gorgeous reception table filled with huge bowls of pink grapefruit, cotton candy, raspberry and strawberry daiquiri jellybeans. Available in a rainbow-bright palette of colors, including the hot citrus colors of the tropics – all the rage in the bridal world this season, the sweet treats are putting a new twist on the traditional wedding bonbonnieres. Brides-to-be are filling satin bags with jewel-toned jelly beans to give away as favors. The colorful candies are making a splash at bridal showers, too. According to the Jelly Belly Candy Company, its new trio of mint flavors is proving to be quite popular with the ladies. The company's Web site, JellyBelly.com, even offers a clever “candy calculator” to help brides figure out how many jellybeans they will need based on the number of guests and the size of the wedding favors.
